Job Description
Bluejack National Builders is a growing construction organization focused on delivering high-quality luxury custom homes through disciplined financial management, strong operational controls, and a commitment to integrity and teamwork. The Construction Accountant plays a key role in supporting construction operations by overseeing critical accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining efficient close processes, and ensuring compliance with GAAP. This position partners closely with operations and leadership to support project accounting, cost controls, audits, and forecasting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Performing basic accounting procedures, e.g. A/R, A/P, time billing, G/L, tax payments
· Performing month end and quarterly closing (e.g. bank reconciliation, month-end interest accruals, allocating G&A across projects, credit card reconciliation)
· Preparing trial balances and other financial statements as requested (balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements)
- Analyzing and reconciling general ledger accounts
- Assist with annual financial audits
- Preparing wires, ACHs and check requests when needed
- Performing analysis of operations on a regular basis e.g. preparing budget to actuals by home, tracking expenses and change orders by home / project
- Managing multiple cash accounts daily to ensure adequate liquidity
- Ensuring all active projects are covered by valid, binding contracts
- Submitting bank draws to the banks on a bi-monthly basis, as well as maintaining communication with lenders and scheduling appraisals for draws
- Communicating with clients in order to collect on cash draws
- Closing out project accounts upon home/project completion
Other Assignments and Special Projects
- Support special projects and ad‑hoc financial analysis as assigned.
- Provide guidance and informal supervision to staff accountants as needed.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field preferred but not required
- 2+ years construction accounting experience is preferred
- Strong organization, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects, deadlines, and companies requiring separate GLs and expense tracking
- Strong computer aptitude, which includes expertise with Microsoft Excel as well as experience with QuickBooks Enterprise and Builder Trend preferred
- Analytical skills with particular attention to detail
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work well in a team setting
APPROXIMATE SCHEDULE AND HOURS:
Weekdays, weekends, and Holidays, schedule flexible as business dictates.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License and meet the driver safety policy requirements.
