About Generation Hospitality

As a recognized leader in the hospitality industry, Generation Hospitality Group brings unparalleled expertise in marketing, sales, operations and revenue management.

About The Role

The Night Auditor in our 40 Rooms department plays a key role in ensuring smooth overnight operations, accurate daily financial reconciliation, and a safe, welcoming environment for guests. This hourly, part-time position combines front desk guest service with end-of-day accounting and reporting tasks. Working independently during late evening and overnight shifts, the Night Auditor is responsible for maintaining the integrity of our financial records, supporting late-arriving and early-departing guests, and preparing the property for the next business day.

What You'll Do

  • Perform nightly audit of daily hotel revenues, postings, and transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Balance room charges, taxes, payments, and adjustments between the front desk system and accounting records
  • Run and review daily reports for management, including occupancy, revenue, and variance reports
  • Handle guest check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and room assignments during evening and overnight hours
  • Respond to guest inquiries, requests, and concerns in a professional and timely manner
  • Monitor property security and access points, reporting and documenting any unusual activity
  • Process payments, verify methods of payment, and resolve basic billing questions or discrepancies
  • Prepare and organize front desk materials, reports, and documentation for the following day’s staff and management
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all nightly transactions and reports
  • Ensure lobby, front desk, and common areas remain clean, presentable, and welcoming throughout the shift
  • Communicate important guest issues, maintenance needs, and operational updates to the incoming shift
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards during overnight operations

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in hotel front desk, accounting, or night audit preferred but not required
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and comfort working with numbers and reconciliations
  • Proficiency with computers and the ability to learn property management and point-of-sale systems
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial data and guest information
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and remain productive with minimal supervision during overnight shifts
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment in handling guest issues and unusual situations
  • Reliability and punctuality with a consistent ability to work evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light physical tasks such as lifting, bending, or moving materials up to a moderate weight
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; additional hospitality or accounting coursework is a plus
