We are seeking an engaged and detail-oriented Housekeeping Supervisor who is passionate about creating clean, comfortable, and welcoming environments while providing hands-on leadership and support to the Housekeeping team.
The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees daily Housekeeping operations to ensure guestrooms and assigned hotel areas are clean, safe, orderly, and ready for guests. This position supervises Room Attendants, coordinates room-cleaning priorities, conducts inspections, communicates room status, supports associate development, and partners with Front Office and Engineering to ensure efficient room readiness and an exceptional guest experience.

Provide consistent Housekeeping leadership while ensuring guestrooms and hotel areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, safety, and guest readiness.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead Housekeeping Operations & Room Readiness- Supervise Room Attendants and other assigned Housekeeping associates in the prompt, efficient, and consistent cleaning of guestrooms and assigned areas.
- Coordinate daily room-cleaning priorities based on departures, stayovers, arrivals, VIP rooms, early make-up requests, room changes, special requests, and hotel business needs.
- Monitor room status throughout the shift and communicate updates promptly to Room Attendants and Front Office.
- Review room assignments and related records to ensure rooms are completed and accurately updated by the end of the shift.
- Maintain a visible leadership presence on guest floors and throughout assigned areas.
- Assist with Housekeeping operations when business levels or staffing needs require additional support.
- Ensure Housekeeping carts, linen closets, storage areas, vacuums, and equipment are clean, organized, properly stored, and ready for use
- Inspect checkout and stayover guestrooms after cleaning to ensure cleanliness, presentation, condition, and room readiness meet hotel and brand standards.
- Conduct and document room inspections and follow up on deficiencies until corrected.
- Inspect VIP and priority guestrooms and verify special requests are completed before guest arrival when applicable.
- Ensure guestroom amenities, linens, supplies, furniture, fixtures, and overall presentation meet established standards.
- Identify cleanliness, maintenance, safety, or presentation deficiencies and ensure timely corrective action.
- Reinforce Housekeeping cleaning procedures, quality expectations, and inspection standards consistently.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and Housekeeping-related concerns.
- Address guest concerns within the scope of the role and escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate leader.
- Follow through on guest requests to help ensure expectations are met.
- Protect guest privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Provide daily direction, work assignments, coaching, and follow-up to Room Attendants and other assigned Housekeeping associates.
- Assist with onboarding and training new associates on cleaning procedures, service standards, safety practices, equipment use, and departmental expectations.
- Clearly communicate expectations for productivity, attendance, professionalism, teamwork, grooming, and guest service.
- Observe associate performance and provide timely coaching and feedback.
- Communicate recurring performance or conduct concerns to the Director of Rooms in accordance with company procedures.
- Reinforce accountability while maintaining a professional and respectful work environment.
- Identify guestroom and public-area maintenance needs during inspections.
- Follow up on open work orders and verify repairs or corrections have been completed when applicable.
- Coordinate with Engineering and Front Office regarding rooms requiring maintenance attention.
- Communicate information regarding out-of-order or out-of-service rooms and expected return-to-service timing.
- Report recurring maintenance concerns, damaged furniture or fixtures, safety hazards, and room-condition issues.
- Ensure rooms are appropriately inspected before returning them to available inventory when applicable.
- Monitor linen closets and storage areas for cleanliness, organization, adequate par levels, and secure storage.
- Assist with linen, amenity, supply, and equipment inventories.
- Report shortages, unusual usage, loss, or damaged items to Housekeeping leadership.
- Ensure Housekeeping carts and equipment are properly cleaned, maintained, stored, and secured at the end of each shift.
- Follow established Lost and Found procedures, including proper documentation, storage, security, and transfer of found items.
- Properly handle and secure keys and other access devices according to company procedures.
- Help protect hotel assets by maintaining appropriate controls over Housekeeping supplies and equipment.
- Partner closely with Front Office and Engineering to support room readiness and guest satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively through radios, telephones, meetings, logs, room-status systems, and other established communication tools.
- Communicate significant guest concerns, maintenance needs, staffing issues, safety matters, and operational risks to the Director of Rooms.
- Support other hotel departments during emergency or significant operational situations when directed by management.
- Maintain positive and professional working relationships throughout the hotel.
- Follow and reinforce company safety rules, emergency procedures, security practices, sanitation standards, and Housekeeping procedures.
- Ensure linen chutes, storage rooms, keys, chemicals, and equipment are properly secured.
- Ensure associates follow applicable chemical-safety, Hazard Communication, bloodborne-pathogen, and Personal Protective Equipment requirements.
- Protect guest privacy, including room numbers, personal information, and established guestroom-access procedures.
- Identify and promptly report unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, suspicious activity, or security concerns.
- Maintain required inspection records, room-assignment records, cleaning logs, Lost and Found documentation, and other assigned operational or safety records.
- Ensure associates use cleaning chemicals and equipment according to established safety procedures.
- Strong working knowledge of hotel Housekeeping operations, guestroom cleaning, room inspections, linen and supply controls, room status, and quality standards.
- Ability to lead a team, provide clear direction, coach associates, organize work, and follow through with limited direct supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and quality.
- Ability to identify guestroom deficiencies and ensure timely corrective action.
- Strong organization, prioritization, time-management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with guests, associates, and hotel leadership.
- Ability to read and complete room-assignment sheets, inspection records, work orders, logs, and other operational documentation.
- Basic mathematical and computer skills and the ability to learn required hotel technology.
- Ability to work effectively across departments and respond positively to changing priorities and business needs.
- Working knowledge of hotel safety, emergency procedures, guest privacy, key control, Lost and Found, sanitation, and chemical-handling practices.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and extended hours based on hotel business needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three years of hotel Housekeeping experience preferred.
- At least one year of Housekeeping supervisory or lead experience preferred.
- Previous experience conducting guestroom quality inspections.
- Previous experience training and coaching Room Attendants.
- Full-service hotel experience preferred.
- Experience working with computerized room-status or hotel operations systems.
- An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
This position requires the ability to perform the essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Remain walking and standing for most of the working day.
- Frequently move between guestrooms, guest floors, linen areas, storage areas, laundry, back-of-house spaces, and other hotel departments.
- Bend, stoop, squat, stretch, reach, and visually inspect guestrooms and assigned areas.
- Maintain the visual acuity and attention to detail necessary to conduct thorough guestroom inspections.
- Lift or move items weighing up to approximately 15 pounds on a regular basis.
- Push or pull Housekeeping carts and equipment weighing up to approximately 250 pounds on occasion.
- Perform repetitive motions and maintain the manual dexterity required to use Housekeeping equipment, documentation, radios, and other work tools.
- Work around cleaning chemicals and use required Personal Protective Equipment.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing room priorities, occupancy levels, and operational demands.
- Work a flexible schedule based on hotel business needs, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
- Maintain neat, clean, and professional grooming and appearance standards.
