Digital SEM Marketing/Communications Specialist

This role focuses on driving performance and growth across digital advertising portfolios for automotive dealer clients, with a strong emphasis on Search Engine Marketing and multi-channel campaign execution. It involves managing end-to-end digital campaigns across search, display, social, and video platforms while ensuring alignment with client goals and industry best practices. The position operates in a fast-paced, data-driven environment where performance optimization, client satisfaction, and retention are key priorities. You will analyze campaign data, translate insights into actionable recommendations, and continuously improve advertising effectiveness across a large account portfolio. The role requires strong ownership, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple client relationships simultaneously. It also offers the opportunity to work remotely while contributing to high-impact digital marketing strategies for nationally recognized brands.

Accountabilities

Execute and optimize digital advertising campaigns across SEM, display, social, and video channels while ensuring strong performance outcomes, client satisfaction, and alignment with dealer marketing strategies across a large portfolio of accounts.

  • Manage end-to-end execution of digital campaigns, including keyword research, ad creation, audience targeting, and performance tracking across multiple platforms.
  • Analyze campaign performance data and translate insights into strategic recommendations to improve KPIs such as cost per lead, traffic quality, and conversion performance.
  • Monitor account health, identify performance issues or “red flags,” and take immediate corrective action to optimize results.
  • Provide regular reporting, including monthly performance updates and quarterly consultative reviews with clients.
  • Manage client relationships through proactive communication via phone, email, webinars, and occasional in-person interactions.
  • Partner with sales teams to support upselling, retention efforts, and resolution of client objections.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of campaign changes, optimizations, and client interactions for audit and performance tracking purposes.
  • Contribute to best practice sharing across teams and support continuous improvement of digital advertising operations.
Requirements

This role requires strong experience in digital advertising, SEM campaign management, and client-facing performance marketing within a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in digital marketing, SEM, or performance advertising roles.
  • Strong knowledge of SEO, SEM, and digital advertising platforms including Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, and social media channels.
  • Experience using analytics tools such as Google Analytics and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Ability to analyze performance data and translate insights into actionable optimization strategies.
  • Strong client relationship management and customer service skills with experience handling multiple accounts.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including consultative client interactions.
  • Ability to manage time effectively across a large portfolio of clients and competing priorities.
  • Relevant certifications (Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, etc.) strongly preferred or required within onboarding period.
