This role plays a critical part in advancing process safety and engineering excellence across complex chemical manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for strengthening process safety frameworks, supporting capital projects, and ensuring compliance with high engineering and EHS standards. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will help design, implement, and improve safety processes that directly impact operational reliability and risk reduction. The position combines technical expertise in chemical engineering with hands-on involvement in audits, risk assessments, and capital project support. You will also contribute to the development of corporate safety standards and training programs that shape engineering practices across multiple sites. - Conduct process safety risk assessments for capital expenditure (CapEx) projects and targeted manufacturing processes, ensuring risks are properly identified and mitigated.
- Develop and continuously improve engineering and process safety standards and procedures aligned with corporate safety strategy and roadmap.
- Provide technical process safety support to CapEx project teams throughout design, execution, and implementation phases.
- Perform process safety audits in collaboration with EHS teams to ensure compliance with internal and external safety standards.
- Deliver process safety training and guidance to CapEx and engineering teams to strengthen organizational capability.
- Maintain and upgrade hazard review and risk analysis software systems to support consistent and accurate safety evaluations.
This role requires a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical field, along with at least 10 years of experience in process safety within a manufacturing or chemical production environment. Candidates should bring strong technical expertise in engineering principles, chemical processes, and EHS standards, combined with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
- Strong background in process safety within chemical manufacturing or industrial operations.
- Deep understanding of chemical engineering principles, plant operations, and safety systems.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, hazard analyses, and safety audits in complex environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and data interpretation skills with a structured approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to develop standards, procedures, and training programs to support organizational safety goals.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and build consensus across teams.
- Strong leadership mindset with a focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Willingness to travel 20–35% across operational sites.
- TUV Functional Safety Certification is considered a plus.
- Annual salary range: $123,690 – $181,412
