Job Description

Expert Systems Engineer

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Expert Systems Engineer in India.

This role is a highly specialized technical position focused on deep Citrix performance engineering, system diagnostics, and enterprise-scale optimization. You will act as a senior technical authority responsible for uncovering and resolving complex root causes behind Citrix logon and session performance issues across large, distributed environments. The position requires strong analytical depth, hands-on troubleshooting expertise, and the ability to connect insights across multiple system layers including Windows, Citrix, networking, and cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with engineering teams, leveraging advanced diagnostic tools, AI-assisted analysis, and telemetry data to improve system performance at scale. Beyond individual issue resolution, you will play a key role in building standardized diagnostic methodologies and improving organizational capability. This is a high-impact, hands-on engineering role where your findings directly influence customer experience across enterprise deployments.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead advanced Citrix logon and performance investigations, identifying root causes across all session lifecycle phases including brokering, authentication, GPO processing, profile load, and HDX session creation.
  • Perform deep system, network, and packet-level analysis using tools such as Wireshark, Citrix Director, Azure Log Analytics, and performance dashboards to isolate complex performance bottlenecks.
  • Analyze and correlate multi-source telemetry data (Power BI, event logs, monitoring systems) to uncover systemic issues impacting Citrix environments at scale.
  • Drive GPO analysis and optimization, identifying misconfigurations, policy conflicts, and performance-impacting settings in enterprise Citrix VDA environments.
  • Investigate and optimize profile management, FSLogix configurations, and HDX policies to reduce logon and session initialization times.
  • Develop diagnostic methodologies, runbooks, and best-practice documentation to standardize troubleshooting approaches across engineering teams.
  • Leverage AI-assisted tools and automation to analyze configuration data, accelerate root cause identification, and enhance engineering workflows.
  • Mentor and guide systems engineers, improving overall team capability in advanced Citrix diagnostics and performance engineering.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (XenApp/XenDesktop) in complex enterprise environments.
  • Deep expertise in Citrix logon architecture, including session startup, authentication, brokering, GPO processing, and HDX performance metrics.
  • Strong understanding of Windows Group Policy (GPO), including performance tuning and troubleshooting in Citrix environments.
  • Proficiency with Citrix Director, Wireshark, Azure Log Analytics, and performance monitoring tools.
  • Strong experience in system-level troubleshooting across Windows, networking, and virtualization layers.
  • Ability to analyze large-scale datasets and correlate performance signals across multiple platforms and tools.
  • Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) for automation, diagnostics, and configuration analysis.
  • Strong communication skills with proven ability to document findings and mentor technical teams.
  • Familiarity with FSLogix, Azure-hosted Citrix environments, StoreFront, Workspace App, and proxy/WPAD configurations is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted engineering workflows, Citrix certification (CCE-V), or healthcare IT environments is a plus.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation aligned with senior systems engineering expertise.
  • Remote-first working model with flexibility across India-based locations.
  • Opportunity to work on highly complex enterprise Citrix environments at global scale.
  • Exposure to advanced performance engineering, AI-assisted diagnostics, and automation tooling.
  • Strong learning environment with opportunities to develop deep expertise in Citrix, Windows, and cloud ecosystems.
  • Career growth potential into senior architecture, performance engineering, or technical leadership roles.
  • Collaborative engineering culture focused on knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Access to cutting-edge tools and datasets used for enterprise-scale performance optimization.
