This hands-on role is responsible for upgrading, modifying, and installing commercial HVAC and mechanical systems in existing facilities.

What you'll do

1. Install, replace, and retrofit commercial HVAC equipment, including rooftop units (RTUs), split systems, exhaust fans, and associated components.
2. Fabricate, install, and modify ductwork systems according to project specifications.
3. Perform pipefitting work for chilled water, hot water, condensate, refrigerant, and mechanical piping systems.
4. Execute brace welding and support fabrication for HVAC and mechanical installations.
5. Assist with electrical connections for HVAC equipment, including disconnects, low-voltage wiring, and control circuits.
6. Support startup and commissioning activities for newly installed equipment.
7. Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and project specifications.
8. Coordinate with controls technicians to ensure proper integration of building automation and control systems.
9. Troubleshoot installation issues and recommend corrective actions.
10. Maintain accurate project documentation, material usage records, and daily work reports.
11. Follow OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies at all times.
12. Communicate professionally with customers, subcontractors, and team members.

What we're looking for

1. 3+ years of experience in commercial HVAC installation, retrofit, or mechanical construction.
2. Experience with ductwork installation and fabrication.
3. Experience with mechanical pipefitting.
4. Basic welding experience, including equipment supports and bracing.
5. Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.
6. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
7. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work from ladders, lifts, rooftops, and mechanical spaces.

Nice to haves

1. EPA Universal Certification.
2. Experience with commercial rooftop units and split systems.
3. Basic knowledge of HVAC electrical systems and controls.
4. Familiarity with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and control wiring.
5. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
6. Experience operating lifts, forklifts, and other construction equipment.
