IV Therapy Tech at Houston Healthcare – Warner Robins, Georgia

Provides patient care under the supervision of the Staff Nurse to include but not limited to assisting with ADL's specimen collection (non-invasive), transportation of patients (unmonitored), patient preparation for procedures, and collection of vital signs, IV starts, blood draws, and unit specific procedures/tasks which require documented competencies. Responsible for fulfillment of Houston Healthcare mission, values and quality commitment. Participates as a team member to ensure appropriate resources are available to all internal and external customers.

High School diploma or GED equivalent. Completion of approved course in phlebotomy, licensed practical nursing, emergency medical technician or paramedic or currently enrolled in and participating in the clinical portion of a nursing degree program. Education/training (except for HS diploma or GED equivalent) may be waived with experience listed below. Four (4) years experience as a patient care tech (or similar title) in a hospital. Hospital experience may be substituted with Four (4) years patient care assisting experience in other health care facility and a GA Certified Nursing Assistant certification or Six (6) years experience as a medical technician or hospital corpsman in the U.S. Armed Forces. Experience may be waived with education/training as listed above. Current AHA-BLS certification. Must be able utilize standard office equipment, diagnostic equipment as well as patient care equipment, and persona; protective equipment such as gloves, gown, mask, etc. Basic computer skills required.
