Job Summary
- The Patient Access Quality Auditor is responsible for the overall support and direction of the Registration processes for the MDH Medical Group Patient Access Specialists. The Patient Access Quality Auditor serves as an expert, mentor, consultant, team member and facilitator in the department. Provides registration services/support as described in the position description of Patient Access Specialist.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Education.
a. High School degree.
2. Years and Type of Previous Experience.
a. 3-5 years of experience in healthcare required.
b. 2-3 years management experience preferred.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must be knowledgeable of all registration policies procedures and operation of equipment. This person must also be knowledgeable of physician office management techniques and regulatory agencies' requirements. The patient population must be considered when assessing job knowledge required from employee.
ABILITIES, INTERESTS AND TEMPERAMENTS
1. Understanding and ability to use EMR, insurance eligibility, word processing and spreadsheet software.
2. Visual acuity required adequately accessing, reading, understanding, preparing, and presenting written and on-line material.
3. Sound interpersonal, organizational, decision-making, problem solving, and customer service skills necessary to respond and satisfy customers exhibiting high stress behaviors is required.
4. Ability to communicate effectively and concisely with all members of the interdisciplinary care team, accurately transmitting and receiving on-line, verbal and telephone communications.
5. Ability to remain calm and courteous while working in stressful situations.
6. A preference for working in and organizing activities that are carried out in relation to established processes and techniques.
7. Clerical perception is needed to prevent errors in registration procedures, reports, and record keeping.
8. Ability to perform duties and handle information, which requires discretion.
9. Ability to mentor and develop the skills of the Patient Access Specialist personnel.
10. Must have the ability to work with a variety of patients of all populations (e.g. developmentally appropriate care, cultural diversity, patients with pain, victims of abuse or neglect, and diagnosis or procedure specific such as patient with congestive heart failure or cesarean delivery).
