About This Position
Possesses a working knowledge of Fair Credit Acts
Makes sure that the bank's policies and procedures are in line with all rules and regulations associated with mortgage and consumer lending and customer deposits Researches questions and gray areas regarding banking rules and regulations and ensures that the institution does not break any laws Implements and manages new rules and regulations when they are passed by state or federal governing bodies Understands and enforces public interest and consumer protection laws Works with the bank's Executive Management to make sure all policies and procedures are being followed in their entiretyOTHER DUTIES
Provides regular compliance training for newly hired employees and other banking staff, particularly when any state or federal laws change
Initiates investigations when possible non-compliance takes place within the bank Provides support and assistance to outside auditors when necessary Develop and implement compliance model required for a bank to operate within acceptable standards Conduct research to identify new regulations passed by state or federal governing bodies Participate in seminars, conferences, and workshops to improve job knowledge Carry out risk assessments to identify areas of potential compliance risks in order to implement preventive/corrective strategies to address compliance issues Minimum Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -~ Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.
~ 3 to 5 years of experience with managing compliance regulatory projects or other financial management position.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED -~ Strong ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
~ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
~ Strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.
~ Ability to work with all levels of management and bank staff.
~ Well-organized, efficient and able to work independently.
~ Detail-oriented in order to generate accurate and precise work.
~ Knowledge of as many areas of bank operations as possible.
~ Working knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to banks and the ability to interpret and understand laws and regulations.
~ Computer skills.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS -~ Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM): Requires 3 years of experience as a compliance officer and 80 hours of training courses approved by the Institute of Certified Bankers
~ Certified Bank Compliance Officer (CBCO) certification
~ Certified Regulatory and Compliance Professional (CRCP) certification
