Security Training Officer at Cookeville Regional Medical Center – Cookeville, Tennessee

This position is responsible for the proper training of all Protective Services staff as well as maintaining all departmental records, timely re-certification of staff, and compliance to policies, including necessary updates, in order to insure the safety and security of CRMC’s employees, patients, visitors and property and the performance of other tasks relating to the welfare, safety and security of the medical center and its satellites. The Security Training Officer will assume supervisory responsibility, as directed by the Security Director, as necessary to perform the required duties. This position will also provide training assistance to CRMC Education Services as directed by the Security Director to assist in employee T.A.C.T., or similar course, certification.

High School Diploma/GED required

Additional Education Requirements:

Post secondary education/experience in criminal justice preferred.

Additional Certification Details:

Supervisory certifications thru IAHSS within the first 12 months of accepting this position.
Must be willing to attain certified Taser Instructor certification, State of Tennessee Unarmed Security Instructor or similar certification, IAHSS instructor certification, and TACT or similar therapeutic intervention instructor certification at earliest possible convenience.
State of Tennessee Armed Security Guard license required.
If designated and assigned by director a valid driver’s license would be required which includes:
• No more than 2 Minor Violation or at fault accident in the past 12 mos. or 3 in the past 3 years.
• No major violations I the past 3 years
• No suspended, expired, revoked, or other status indicating the driver is not licensed.
• No inexperienced drivers having less than 3 years operating the vehicle type they are driving.

Additional Experience Requirements:

Must be 21 years of age. State of Tennessee Law Enforcement Commission or POST certification (other state’s equivalent accepted) in good standing or a minimum of two years military, law enforcement, or armed security experience preferred or possess a specific skill that would benefit the department and hospital. Exemplary CRMC Protective Services job and training performance and State of Tennessee Armed Security license accepted in lieu of other experience.
