Position Summary

Landmark Construction is seeking a skilled and dependable Concrete Finisher to join our field operations team. This position is responsible for placing, finishing, and repairing concrete on heavy civil and site development projects including roads, curbs, sidewalks, slabs, and drainage structures. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, experience in outdoor construction environments, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

1. Place, spread, level, and finish concrete to specified grades and tolerances
2. Set, align, and secure concrete forms for sidewalks, curbs, slabs, and structures
3. Smooth and finish surfaces using hand and power tools (trowels, floats, screeds, edgers)
4. Cut expansion joints and control joints using saws and hand tools
5. Monitor concrete curing process and apply curing compounds or sealers as needed
6. Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and site plans
7. Perform patching, repair, and finishing of existing concrete surfaces
8. Work closely with equipment operators, laborers, and supervisors to complete pours efficiently
9. Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe job site
10. Follow all OSHA and company safety standards

Concrete finishers are primarily responsible for ensuring surfaces are properly leveled, smoothed, and finished to meet structural and aesthetic requirements .

Qualifications

1. 2+ years of concrete finishing experience (heavy civil/sitework preferred)
2. Ability to operate hand and power finishing tools
3. Experience with curb & gutter, sidewalks, slabs, and roadway concrete
4. Ability to read grades, stakes, and construction plans
5. Strong understanding of concrete placement, finishing techniques, and curing processes
6. Valid driver’s license preferred

Physical Requirements

1. Ability to perform heavy manual labor in outdoor conditions
2. Frequent lifting (50+ lbs), bending, kneeling, and standing for long periods
3. Ability to work in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain)

Work Environment

1. Outdoor construction sites
2. Fast-paced, team-oriented heavy civil projects
3. May require early mornings, over nights, overtime, and occasional weekend work

Preferred Skills

1. Experience with laser screeds or advanced finishing equipment
