About the Role:

The Shipping and Receiving Associate plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate movement of goods within a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, and shipment of products and materials, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting overall supply chain operations. The associate will coordinate with various departments to verify orders, prepare shipping documentation, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Attention to detail and organizational skills are essential to prevent errors and delays in the shipping and receiving process. Ultimately, this role contributes to the smooth flow of materials that supports production schedules and customer satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in shipping and receiving within a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift with valid certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and reporting purposes.
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting bills of lading and other shipping documents.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory control software.
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA safety standards and compliance.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing industry setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders and bills of lading, and inspect for damage or discrepancies.
  • Prepare and package outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with shipping regulations and company policies.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely to move goods within the warehouse and production areas.
  • Maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities using Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and reporting.
  • Coordinate with inventory control and production teams to update stock levels and resolve any shipment or receipt issues promptly.

Skills:

The required skills such as proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel are essential for creating, maintaining, and organizing shipping and receiving documentation, ensuring accurate record-keeping and reporting.
