The Resident Assistant (RA) position within the Residence Life Office is a student leadership position that requires the RA to reside in a residence hall alongside other students. The RA works under the supervision of a Residence Life Coordinator (RLC). In the hall, the RA is accountable for helping to create a community environment that is conducive to the personal growth and development of all residents.

The RA position is one of opportunity and responsibility. RAs have the chance to explore their own development through interaction with people and ideas related to their job. They will gain many insights into their ability to relate to people with a wide variety of personalities and lifestyles and to gain substantial knowledge from the other staff members with whom they work. The RA helps guide others to realize and work toward their individual potential. This job is one with many duties: it is an opportunity to maximize a student’s self-development, maturity, and confidence during the academic year.

Requirements:

- The RA must be enrolled as a full-time student.

- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 when hired and at least a GPA of 2.50 the semester prior to employment and while employed through the Office of Residence Life.

- Must be Connections Leadership trained prior to the start of Orientation. Connections Leadership training is scheduled for March 28th and April 4th

- The RA cannot hold a work-study position and be an RA at the same time (if hired, you will need to forfeit your work-study position).

- Must be able to attend Fall Training beginning on : Monday, August 11th, 2025@ 8 AM | When can you arrive to campus?: August 10th, 2025 after 4 PM.

- The RA is expected to report to work for each semester on the specified date and time and remain on the job until the specified date.


Compensation & Rewards:

- The Resident Assistant receives a $4,000 yearly stipend.

- The RA receives free parking for the contracted academic year.

- The RA receives priority class scheduling.

- The RA receives the opportunity to select their roommates prior to Housing Selection.
