Job Title: Mountain Operations / Lift operator / Guest Services
Location: Ben Lomond Alpine Resort, Tasmania, Australia
Position Type: Seasonal, Winter 2026
Hours: Typical work hours are from 7am to 5pm within our operational hours or other times as required. Monday to Sunday. Hours will vary during the season due to demand and snow conditions.

Job Description:
We are currently seeking enthusiastic and responsible individuals to join our team as Lift Operators and mountain operation staff for the winter season of 2026. As a part of mountain operations, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our ski lifts, contributing to the overall guest experience at our resort as well as guest services, maintenance, and general duties. All applicants will be required to assist on other business related duties such as ticketing, lift operations, rentals etc, this will ensure you are cross trained on all aspects of our operations as well as maintaining an income during quieter times.
Responsibilities:
- Operate ski lifts in a safe and efficient manner, following all operational procedures and safety protocols.
- Assist guests in safely loading and unloading from ski lifts, providing friendly and helpful customer service.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on ski lifts and report any issues or malfunctions to maintenance staff.
- Monitor lift queues and assist in organising guests to ensure smooth and orderly boarding.
- Uphold a high standard of cleanliness and appearance in lift stations and surrounding areas.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure a positive and enjoyable experience for all guests.
- Undertake duties other than lift operations such as lift line maintenance, snowmaking, general duties and other tasks required by management.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 17 years of age.
- Prior experience operating ski lifts or similar machinery is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours as needed.
- Employees must be willing to be cross trained in other departments such as rentals, ticketing and mountain operations.
- First Aid certificate or ASPA an advantage
- Ski or snow board experience an advantage as you will be required to ride between lifts that you will operate.
- Working with heights certificate an advantage, but not necessary for all staff.

Accommodation:
Accommodation is limited to mountain operation staff and limited spaces are available for critical staff members. If Accommodation is provided a per week rental fee will be payable.
