Controller
POSITION SUMMARYThe Controller will be responsible for overseeing the accounting staff and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, cash flow management and strong analytics. The Controller plays a critical role in maintaining financial integrity and driving efficient financial operations. Goals of this interim role include:
Working with the VP of Finance to improve the accuracy and timeliness of the monthly financial statements, reducing closing time to 20 business days Identify budget risks Streamline process, including further automation of closing process Improve reporting to operating units Collaborate with VP of Procurement to develop strong analytics surrounding medical supply costs Work with VP of Finance to assess finance organization structure and perform a gap analysis of overall group competenciesCORE COMPETENCIES

- Financial Management: Oversee the preparation of financial statements, reports, and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and other relevant standards.
- Accounting Oversight: Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Internal Controls: Develop and maintain robust internal control policies and procedures to safeguard the organizations assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor finance staff, fostering a collaborative environment and promoting professional development.
- Policy Development: Establish and enforce financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Strategic Support: Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to inform strategic decision-making.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
- Proficient in financial software and ERP systems; advanced Excel skills required.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance or accounting roles, with at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Requires sitting for long periods of time. Periodic standing, walking, bending. Requires lifting of up to 15 pounds. Visual acuity sufficient to perform frequent work on a computer screen and review printed reports and other materials. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Requires the ability to hear and to communicate orally with others.
