ODOT Child Passenger Safety Outreach Specialist (Health Educator) in Portland, Oregon at Portland, OR (Marquam Hill)

Car Seat Outreach support:

• Assist ODOT partners and CPS technicians with the coordination and support the development and execution of community car seat outreach events and provide outreach inspection stations for community.
• Assist in the organization, implementation and support of community car seat outreach events and car seat inspection stations.
• Assist with the development of monitoring and tracking of all car seat events and distribution tracking and activity.
• Provide support for planning, preparation, and organization & movement of supplies and program inventory.

Grant supported community education:

• Collaborate/coordinate with Oregon CPS Coordinator to provide support to Oregon technicians
• Support development and implementation of state grant supported outreach events and state conferences.

Representation:

• Represent ODOT CPS programing locally and nationally as requested and pertain to the development of CPS programming.

Job Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Competencies):

• Knowledge and experience in development of online resources and programs including webinars and other training methodologies.

• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.

• Bachelor of Arts Degree or 2 year degree in related field.
• 1 year experience in provision of community/health education.
• Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician, CPST Proxy, or CPST Instructor. CPS Enrichment Training “Safe Travel for All Children” Safe Transportation on School Busses (National Training)
• Actively participating in Child Passenger Safety activities in the community. Certified CPS Technician Proxy or Instructor Completed Enrichment Trainings: Transporting Children with Special Health Care Needs (STAC) Safe Transportation on School Busses (National Training)
