    1. Basic Function

    The Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager position is a working position responsible for all Food Safety and Quality system programs. Responsible for overseeing the systems that ensure food products are safe and meet quality standards. This person will play a pivotal role in maintaining food safety regulations and standards within an organization.

    1. Specific Duties and Responsibilities Including but Not Limited to Demonstrated Proficiency in the Following:
      1. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
      2. Developing and implementing food safety programs
      3. Maintaining documentation regarding HACCP, GMP, SOP, and employee training
      4. Providing leadership, support, and guidance to ensure food quality standards, food safety guidelines, legal requirements, and customer expectations are met
      5. Supporting and complying with all quality management systems, continuous improvement programs, food safety, employee safety, preventative maintenance programs, and legality.
      6. Collaborate with other supervisors/managers to coordinate activities of individual departments including production to identify, solve and prevent problems affecting quality of product.
      7. Setting up quality assurance systems for proper certification

    1. Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
    2. Consult with Sr. FSQA manager to resolve quality, production, and efficiency problems
    3. Inspect, test or measure product for conformance to specification. Testing of Physical and Chemical properties of the product.
    4. Lab equipment experience including calibration and verification
    5. Conducting audits and inspections
    6. Investigating food safety concerns
    7. Perform internal and external plant audits to identify any non-conformance

    III. Methods of Accountability
    1. Through various oral and written reports to the Sr. FSQA Manager and other FFH Management.
    2. Through the accurate reporting of paperwork, timely completion of assigned work, and quality of work performed.
  2. IV. Standards of Performance

    1. Overall accuracy of reports/paperwork.
    2. Quality of work.
    3. Level of efficiency attained in quality assurance functions.
    4. Training and development effectiveness.
  3. V. Mental and Physical Requirements

    1. Ability to perform assigned duties in a highly disruptive environment.
    2. Ability to efficiently work with minimum or no direct supervision.
    3. Must be able to work overtime when required to do so.
    4. Ability to perform assigned tasks under time pressure.
    5. Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently at the same time.
    6. Strong written and oral communication skills. Attention to detail and legible penmanship.
    7. Must be able to produce work within exacting standards and tolerances.
  4. VI. Education, Training and Experience

    1. 3-8 years of Quality Management Experience
    2. Bachelor's degree, Food Science discipline or equivalent.
    3. Proficient at Word, Excel and other Microsoft applications. Candidates’ skill set would include math skills (algebra, geometry, statistics).
  5. VII. Working Environment and Conditions

    1. Hearing protection & hairnet/beard net required.
    2. Eye protection required for task specific functions.
    3. Clothing is suitable to prevent entanglement in equipment.
    4. A sometime hot/humid environment, greater than 80°.
