We require the talent of a Maintenance Manager to join our team.

Job Summary:

This position will have overall responsibility for our maintenance and engineering/automation teams and involves managing facility and plant maintenance; planning and executing planned production outages, installation & equipment upgrades and capital expense projects.

Schedule is Monday – Friday, Day shift. May be required to work flexible hours to support emergency and shift requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and guidance to ensure that plant equipment and maintenance and engineering/automation systems function in an efficient and safe manner
  • Oversee engineering projects, ensuring they meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain maintenance programs for all production areas and coordinating internal labour and external contractors as required
  • Provide technical leadership by assessing production requirements and matching resources to complete preventative maintenance and corrective work orders. Provides guidance for troubleshooting and emergency response activities
  • Ensures the effective coordination of planned downtime and repairs to minimize loss of production
  • Prepares and manages the maintenance budget. Maintains inventory of spare parts, supplies and materials for critical maintenance repairs
  • Understands and promotes Maintenance department as a dedicated service to Operations and demonstrates a sense of urgency to support a 24/7 operation with on call support and response for unplanned downtime
  • Ensures compliance with Health and Safety objectives while meeting maintenance performance targets

Qualifications:

  • Post Secondary education, preferably within mechanical maintenance or engineering field
  • 5-7 years of experience working in a supervisory or leadership capacity with preference given to unionized 24/7 operational experience. Manufacturing experience in recycled paper is an asset
  • Proven experience in engineering, reliability, or maintenance management.
  • Subject matter expert on the maintenance and repair of rotating equipment.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching & conflict management skills
  • Demonstrated experience with problem solving and troubleshooting (mechanical, electrical, automation)
  • Experience and competence using a CMMS system, with implementation experience preferred
  • Strong sense of urgency who works well under pressure and reacts to stressful situations with professionalism.
