About This Position

IT support/Network Engineer Job Summary

We are seeking a service-oriented and self-motivated professional to join our IT support team. In this role, you will work on maintaining and monitoring the computer systems and networks for our business. You will be tasked with solving complex technical issues and will also collaborate with team members across all departments to assist them with their technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implementation: Network engineers plan and set up network infrastructure, including hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and software (operating systems, network protocols).
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting: They monitor network performance, identify and resolve issues, and ensure the network remains stable and reliable.
  • Security: Network engineers implement and maintain security measures to protect the network from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
  • Collaboration: They work with other IT professionals, vendors, and clients to ensure smooth network operations.
  • Staying Current: They must stay up to date with the latest technologies and security trends in the networking field.

Skills:

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, etc.), hardware, and security concepts.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze network performance data and identify areas for improvement.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and clients.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges.

Network Engineer Requirements and Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a network support role.
  • Certifications are preferred but not required.
  • Working knowledge and expertise with a variety of software, hardware, and applications & Windows server
  • Willingness to solve complicated problems and see projects through to completion.
  • Analytical skills to study problems and records and identify solutions.
  • Team-oriented attitude to help other colleagues and departments with technical problems.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage time and effectively prioritize numerous projects at one time.
