Key Responsibilities

TECHNOLOGY STRATEGY AND IT FOUNDATION
  • Develop and execute a technology roadmap that supports business priorities across existing properties, corporate functions, and new developments.
  • Assess and stabilize the current environment, addressing fragmented systems, operational risks, technical debt, duplicated services, and manual processes.
  • Establish architecture, technology standards, and governance that can be applied consistently as properties are added or renovated.
  • Develop operating and capital budgets, investment recommendations, and business cases for executive approval; manage delivery against approved priorities.
  • Provide general technology leadership and assistance across departments, balancing operational needs with longer-term improvements.
  • Measure reliability, service performance, security posture, adoption, and cost efficiency, and communicate progress and material risks to executive leadership.

HOSPITALITY SYSTEMS AND BUSINESS INTEGRATION
  • Lead the selection, implementation, integration, and ongoing improvement of property management systems (PMS), spa booking platforms, point-of-sale (POS), payment processing, finance systems, and customer relationship management (CRM) platforms.
  • Understand hotel operating procedures, including reservations, front desk, check-in and check-out, housekeeping, night audit, revenue management, and financial reconciliation, and translate those workflows into system requirements.
  • Partner with Finance, Operations, Marketing, Sales, and Revenue Management to connect operational data, guest profiles, commercial activity, and reporting.
  • Oversee interfaces, APIs, data migration, testing, staff training, and phased cutovers, with clear ownership of integration support and failures.
  • Establish standards for guest-room access control, spa access, and credential management, working with specialist vendors on platforms such as Gantner and Salto and their integrations with operational systems.

NEW PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT AND TECHNOLOGY OPENINGS
  • Lead technology planning for new properties, renovations, and expansions, working with development, construction, engineering, design, and operations teams.
  • Read and review engineering drawings and blueprints for electrical infrastructure, structured cabling, fibre pathways, equipment rooms, wireless access points, and access-control requirements.
  • Define data-room and telecommunications-room requirements, including rack layouts, cooling, ventilation, service clearances, physical security, and capacity for future growth.
  • Coordinate diverse power feeds, A/B power arrangements where appropriate, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), power distribution units (PDU), runtime requirements, and generator interfaces with qualified electrical and mechanical teams.
  • Specify environmental and room monitoring, including temperature, humidity, water leaks, power status, and access events, with actionable alerts and escalation procedures.
  • Coordinate vendors, installation schedules, cabling certification, commissioning, failover testing, training, and operational handover. Maintain accurate drawings and asset records.

NETWORK ARCHITECTURE AND INFRASTRUCTURE RESILIENCE
  • Establish secure, reliable network architecture across properties and corporate locations, including switching, routing, firewalls, VLANs, segmentation, VPNs, and WAN connectivity.
  • Apply strong TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, structured cabling, and fibre knowledge when reviewing designs and resolving complex connectivity issues.
  • Oversee wireless design and architecture, including RF planning, coverage and capacity requirements, access-point placement, roaming, interference management, surveys, and post-installation validation.
  • Design appropriate high-availability (HA) arrangements, diverse carrier and physical-path options, redundant network components, and tested failover procedures based on business requirements.
  • Integrate secure out-of-band management and remote recovery capabilities so critical infrastructure can be accessed when primary connectivity fails.
  • Define infrastructure monitoring, configuration backup, lifecycle replacement, and recovery standards; verify resilience across the network, power, and supporting systems.

IT OPERATIONS AND SERVICE MANAGEMENT
  • Lead the internal IT service management (ITSM) function and helpdesk, with clear responsibilities for internal staff, managed service providers, and specialist vendors.
  • Establish incident, service request, problem, change, asset, and configuration management practices that suit a growing hospitality organization.
  • Define support coverage, severity levels, escalation paths, service-level agreements (SLAs), and major-incident communications appropriate to hospitality operating hours.
  • Oversee the Microsoft 365 environment, including identity administration, collaboration services, endpoint management, licensing, patching, and employee onboarding and offboarding.
  • Maintain a reliable asset inventory, knowledge base, support procedures, and lifecycle plans. Track recurring problems and improve resolution times and employee experience.

  • Manage endpoint detection and response and managed detection and response (MDR) services, including monitoring coverage, incident escalation, response responsibilities, and remediation follow-through.
  • Assess risks associated with vendors, integrations, service accounts, API credentials, remote access, and payment systems, and coordinate corrective action.
  • Maintain incident response plans and staff security awareness training. Work with Finance, legal advisers, and operational leaders on applicable privacy, contractual, and payment-security obligations.
  • Guide approved AI and Microsoft Copilot adoption with appropriate permissions, data protection, and employee usage standards.

DIGITAL GUEST EXPERIENCE AND COMMERCIAL TECHNOLOGY
  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, Revenue Management, and Operations to align CRM, booking channels, guest communications, and on-property technology with commercial objectives.
  • Support sales pipelines, marketing segmentation, consent management, campaign measurement, and guest-profile integration across hotel, spa, restaurant, and other offerings.
  • Evaluate digital check-in, guest-room access, payment, and service technologies for their effect on convenience, accessibility, operational workload, and guest satisfaction.
  • Improve reporting and business intelligence with Finance and department leaders, defining data ownership and consistent information for decision-making.

EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP AND VENDOR MANAGEMENT
  • Lead and develop internal technology resources and external delivery partners, setting responsibilities, priorities, and performance expectations.
  • Advise the C-suite on technology investments, service risks, resourcing, and delivery trade-offs in clear business terms.
  • Lead vendor evaluation, procurement, contract negotiations, renewals, and performance reviews within the organization’s approval framework.
  • Negotiate clear scopes of work, implementation milestones, SLAs, support escalation, commercial terms, and exit arrangements; hold providers accountable for delivery.
  • Build effective relationships across departments and manage adoption, training, and organizational change as new systems and processes are introduced.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of progressive technology experience, including substantial senior leadership responsibility in hotels, resorts, or a hospitality organization operating across multiple properties.
  • Proven experience leading an IT function, developing strategy and budgets, managing people and vendors, and advising C-suite executives.
  • Demonstrated success stabilizing or transforming an IT environment and delivering complex implementations or new-property technology openings.
  • Practical understanding of hotel operations and experience with PMS, POS, payment, CRM, and finance systems and their integrations.
  • Strong hands-on technical delivery experience in networking, wireless architecture, structured cabling, TCP/IP, high availability, and infrastructure recovery.
  • Ability to interpret electrical and cabling drawings and review data-room design, cooling, power resilience, UPS architecture, out-of-band management, and environmental monitoring.
