About This Position
SURGICAL TECH - FIRST ASSIST
Job Summary
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Physician performs a variety of specialized technical duties in the surgical environment.
Qualifications
Education
- Required
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program
- Waived if holding current CST certification, successful completion of 350 cases, and 2 years as a Surgical First Assistant
Experience:
- Preferred
- Two years of experience as a Surgical First Assistant
Certification/Licensure:
- Required
- Surgical Technician Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
- The National Center for Competency Testing or its successor
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Must obtain within ninety (90) days of start date
- First Assist Certification
- Determined/Approved by the department
