SURGICAL TECH - FIRST ASSIST at Shannon Health – San Angelo, Texas

Job Summary

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Physician performs a variety of specialized technical duties in the surgical environment.

Qualifications

Education

• Required
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program
    • Waived if holding current CST certification, successful completion of 350 cases, and 2 years as a Surgical First Assistant

Experience:

• Preferred
  • Two years of experience as a Surgical First Assistant

Certification/Licensure:

• Required
  • Surgical Technician Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
  • The National Center for Competency Testing or its successor
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
    • Must obtain within ninety (90) days of start date
  • First Assist Certification
    • Determined/Approved by the department
