About This Position

The National Account Manager (NAM) will be responsible for developing, managing, and growing strategic relationships with national chain foodservice accounts. This role requires a highly motivated, entrepreneurial sales professional with a strong background in food distribution and an established network of industry relationships to accelerate market penetration and revenue growth.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands the complexities of distributor networks, and can effectively navigate multi-level decision-making within large national accounts and provide consistent communication to field sales force ensuring maximum program execution and product movement.
Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive revenue, distribution, and profitability within national foodservice chain accounts.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of existing accounts while aggressively pursuing new business opportunities.
- Build and leverage strong relationships with key decision-makers across Procurement, Marketing, R&D, Operations, and Culinary.
- Lead contract negotiations, pricing strategies, volume planning, and national account agreements.
- Partner with distributors to optimize product placement, distribution, and overall execution; monitor performance and resolve gaps.
- Collaborate cross-functionally (Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, QA, Finance) to deliver solutions, support product launches, and ensure operational alignment.
- Develop tailored proposals, presentations, and customer programs to support account growth and long-term partnerships.
- Maintain deep knowledge of product portfolio and align offerings with customer needs and market trends.
- Identify opportunities to adjust pricing, product mix, and go-to-market strategies based on performance and competitive insights.
- Partner with field sales teams to drive operator demand and strengthen market penetration.
- Represent GGG at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to build relationships and generate leads.
- Maintain consistent communication with customers regarding new products, business updates, and issue resolution.
- Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to support innovation and product development.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 5 - 7+ years in foodservice sales, with a strong focus on regional and national chain restaurant accounts and major food distributors (e.g., US Foods, Sysco, PFG, ARAMARK, Sodexo).
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Culinary or related field (preferred).
- Demonstrated success in managing and growing large, complex accounts at a national level.
- Established relationships with key decision-makers in national chain restaurant or food service organizations.
- Strong understanding of distributor systems, supply chain logistics, and foodservice operations.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software
- Results-Driven: Self-motivated with a sense of urgency and a high level of initiative.
- Strong analytical skills: ability to connect strategies and objectives to formulate actionable plans.
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
