About the Role
Félix is looking for a Senior Security Architect to help scale the security foundations of a fast-growing, cloud-native fintech platform.
This is a highly technical role focused on driving Security by Design across all engineering initiatives. You will work closely with SecOps and product engineering teams to review system architectures, refine RFCs, and ensure that new features, integrations, and infrastructure changes are built with strong security principles from the ground up.
This role sits at the intersection of Application Security and Cloud Security. You will evaluate how systems are designed and implemented in practice, identify architectural risks, and provide clear, actionable guidance to engineering teams. We are looking for someone who can operate across different levels of abstraction, combining hands-on technical depth with the ability to influence architecture decisions at scale.
Your mission is to ensure that security is consistently embedded into Félix’s architecture, enabling the company to move fast while maintaining a strong and resilient security posture.
Responsibilities

• Design and implement security controls for our cloud infrastructure (GCP/Kubernetes) using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
• Automate security processes and tooling to ensure consistency and efficiency in monitoring and alerting for security-relevant events.
• Conduct periodic security audits and assessments of our systems and network architecture to identify potential weaknesses and recommend improvements.
• Evaluate, recommend, and integrate new security technologies and tools into our existing security stack.
• Contribute to the incident response plan and participate in security incidents as needed, leading the technical analysis and containment efforts.
• Review RFC Proposals: Refine RFCs together with the engineering teams to reach an acceptable level of security. Help the teams define architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams and clarify any obscure points in regards to security. Provide useful comments and follow-up with the teams on resolutions.
• Drive Vulnerability Management: Take ownership of our vulnerability management program using platforms like DefectDojo. You will work closely with engineering teams to triage findings, prioritize remediation efforts, and reduce our overall risk profile.
• Champion Secure Development: Act as a security subject matter expert for our product engineering teams. You will conduct security architecture reviews, perform threat modeling for new features , and promote secure coding best practices across our Python-based services.
• Coordinate Security Assessments: Manage and support internal and external penetration testing engagements, track findings, and drive remediation efforts with the relevant teams.
• Develop Security Standards: Help define and document foundational security requirements for source code management, secrets management, and our CI/CD processes to ensure they are secure by design.
• Support Compliance Initiatives: Partner with our GRC function to implement necessary application security controls and gather evidence to support our SOC 2 and PCI compliance audits.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Security Architect, Product Security Engineer, or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in a scripting or programming language, with a strong preference for Python to align with our primary tech stack.
• Deep understanding of web application vulnerabilities, secure architecture principles, and the OWASP Top 10.
• Experience working with cloud-native technologies and environments (GCP, Kubernetes/GKE, Docker).
• Experience in a regulated industry (Fintech, Healthcare, etc.) and familiarity with compliance frameworks like SOC 2 and PCI DSS.
• These are the applicable requisites, although equivalent competencies in any of the above will also be considered.
