Eldor Automotive Powertrain USA is looking for a Plastics Maintenance Technician to join our Plastics department within our production facility located in Daleville, VA.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Plastics Maintenance Technician is responsible to lead as a primary technical support for production process and product quality. Drives improvements with consideration to internal and external regulations, product quality, economy, occupational and process safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental protection.

Daily Mission:

  • To ensure that all the equipment and machines work correctly to ensure set targets are met.
  • Act as lead for any kind of technical or engineering problem that cannot be solved by an operator or a technician.
  • Work directly with Quality, Production, and Maintenance personnel to determine resolution for part quality issues.
  • Determine if issues are process, equipment, or mold related and develop action plans to correct.
  • Lead in training Process Technicians on proper methods of equipment PM checks, plastics processing methods and tracking.
  • Ensure that any kind of technical and engineering problem that requires a global or structured solution, be presented to the Engineering Department
  • Promote and support continuous improvement of the production line; suggesting new ideas to increase capacity and quality standards
  • Completing necessary documentation to generate and modify process parameter tracking, equipment PM schedules, training records, as well as problem/countermeasure and results tracking reports.
  • Other duties as required.

ABOUT THE QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering field

Experiences Required:

  • Minimum 3 years of work experience with plastic injection molding processes and equipment.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Visio.
  • SAP experience preferred.

Technical Knowledge/Skills:

  • Knowledge of construction of plastic injection molds, including hot runner systems.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with processing tight tolerance plastic injection molds.
  • Knowledge and experience with different types and methods of analysis (statistics), lean production, and automotive quality standards (ISO9001, ISO/TS, VDA, QS9000).
  • General knowledge of maintenance systems (PM, TPM), electrical and electronics, PLC programming, Pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience determining root cause and corrective action for quality defects (equipment, process, mold, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret part drawings with strong understanding of GD&T.
  • Experience making schedules, training documents, and using SPC to generate weekly reports of activities/progress.
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate individually and as part of a team.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Willing to learn new skills and teach others.
