About This Position
In this role, you’ll lead the strategy, execution and P&L, owning and accelerating FoodScience’s eCommerce growth across Amazon, Chewy, Walmart.com, and emerging marketplace channels. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for a builder—someone who has experience scaling brands, owning results, and turning smart strategy into real-world performance.
You’ll be responsible for growing a profitable, scalable eCommerce engine across our portfolio of trusted pet wellness brands, including VetriScience®, Natural Dog Company®, and Pet Naturals®. From long-term vision to day-to-day execution, you’ll set the direction, build the operating model, and make sure the execution actually deliver results.
This role sits at the intersection of brand, marketing, operations, supply chain, and finance, so collaboration is key. You’ll partner closely across the business while still rolling up your sleeves to drive results where it matters most.
The VP, eCommerce serves as the enterprise executive leader for FoodScience’s digital commerce business, accountable for defining strategy and delivering profitable, scalable growth across Amazon, Chewy, Walmart.com, and all marketplace channels. This role owns the long-term vision, operating model, and full P&L performance for eCommerce across FoodScience’s portfolio of trusted pet wellness brands, including VetriScience, Natural Dog Company, and Pet Naturals.eCommerce represents a significant and rapidly growing share of company revenue and is central to FoodScience’s long-term growth strategy to meet pet parents where they shop. As a high-visibility executive leadership role reporting directly to the CEO, the VP, eCommerce plays a critical role in shaping enterprise strategy, investment decisions, and commercial execution across the business.
The VP, eCommerce serves as FoodScience’s senior authority on digital commerce, ensuring channel strategy, pricing, assortment, promotional planning, and retail media investments are fully aligned with company-wide growth and profitability objectives. This leader brings deep strategic and analytical expertise within the Amazon and marketplace ecosystem, with a clear point of view on the current state of the business, the future destination, and the levers required to drive sustained, profitable growth over multiple years.
This role partners closely with Brand, Digital Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to drive integrated planning, accurate demand forecasting, strong in-stock performance, and disciplined management of media and promotional investments. The VP, eCommerce leads a team of six, including a Senior Manager, Amazon; a Senior Manager, Marketplace; and supporting analysts/coordinators, and oversees key agency and platform relationships. This leader sets enterprise direction, prioritizes initiatives, develops talent, builds the scalable foundation required for long-term success and is accountable for the eCommerce revenue growth and profitability. The VP, eCommerce will lead today’s marketplace performance and will architect the digital growth engine that will define FoodScience’s next decade of success.
The ideal candidate is a strategic, data-driven executive with meaningful experience leading Amazon, Chewy, and marketplace businesses at scale. They bring a proven track record of driving both revenue and margin growth, scaling brands to profitability, and anticipating where digital marketplaces are heading and how to position FoodScience to win. The role requires demonstrated skill operating at both a strategic altitude and a hands-on level, particularly given this period of transformation, growth, and integration.

Strategic Leadership & Channel Growth
- Set the strategic direction and long-term growth strategy for Amazon, Chewy, Walmart.com, and marketplace channels, aligning channel plans with overall company growth objectives.
- Partner with brand and marketing teams to align eCommerce strategies with broader brand positioning, pricing, and promotional objectives.
- Evaluate and prioritize platforms that have the greatest ROI.
- Lead high-ROI new product launches — from pre-launch forecasting and pricing strategy to day-one advertising and post-launch review — to ensure efficient ramp-up to sustainable organic sales.
- Develop cross-channel playbooks that leverage marketplace insights to influence brand, creative, and retail execution across the organization.
- Champion a culture of test-and-learn experimentation, using data-driven hypotheses to improve advertising efficiency, conversion rate, and organic rank velocity.
Sales & Account Management
- Own full P&L performance across eCommerce channels, including revenue, margin, channel mix, and investment decisions.
- Lead senior-level relationships and Joint Business Planning (JBP) with Amazon and other key eCommerce partners.
- Establish a structured reporting cadence (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual) with clear, actionable dashboards highlighting performance trends, issues, and opportunities for management visibility and decision-making.
- Define and lead the team beyond ACOS by implementing advanced KPIs such as TACOS, Contribution Margin, blended LTV-to-CAC, and Organic % of Sales, to manage for profitability, not just spend efficiency.
- Guide and coach the Senior Manager, Amazon and Senior Manager, Marketplace to deliver strong account performance and operational excellence.
- Oversee customer negotiations, strategic planning cycles, and performance reviews with major Retailers.
- Set investment frameworks across retail media, trade spend, and promotional levers to maximize ROI and contribution margin.
- Partner with Supply Chain on forecasting, replenishment, and inventory planning to ensure high service levels.
- Analyze performance across brands, SKUs, and customer segments to identify opportunities for growth and margin improvement.
- Use insights to shape future negotiations, category strategy, and promotional plans that enhance both top-line and bottom-line performance.
Digital Commerce Optimization
- Ensure best-in-class digital shelf presence, including PDP excellence, content hierarchy, SEO, reviews/ratings strategy, and brand stores.
- Lead strategic conversion rate improvement initiatives, identifying friction points across content, price, ratings, and ads — and ensuring timely execution of fixes by the team.
- Partner with Digital Marketing leadership to execute coordinated paid media, SEO/SEM, and content strategies that drive traffic and conversion
- Understand at a deep analytical level the cause-and-effect relationships between Sales, ACOS, TACOS, Conversion Rate, and Organic Rank, and use these insights to guide weekly operational decisions.
- Use data and analytics tools (e.g., Vendor Central, Seller Central, Stackline, Helium10) to monitor search visibility, market share, and competitive dynamics.
- Translate insights into clear priorities and aligned cross-functional action plans to improve performance and efficiency.
Additionally, this role is responsible for developing and maintaining best practices across marketplace operations; ensuring consistency, scalability, and continuous improvement in how FoodScience executes content, advertising, and performance optimization.
Leadership & Team Development
- Serve as the company’s senior eCommerce leader, ensuring channel strategy is aligned with overall commercial and brand objectives.
- Lead a team of six, including Senior Manager, Amazon; Senior Manager, Marketplace; and supporting analysts/coordinators.
- Set clear goals, expectations, operating rhythms, and development plans to build a strong, scalable eCommerce organization.
- Manage agency partnerships and marketplace service providers to augment internal capabilities where needed.
- Foster a culture of clarity, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the eCommerce team and cross-functional partners.
- Provide strong cross-functional leadership across Marketing, Operations, Finance and other departments to deliver eCommerce results.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Travel is required for this position and as such the employee must be able to drive a vehicle, and/or travel via plane or other mode of transportation.

This job operates in a professional environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computer, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
This is a fast paced, moderate noise level environment in a facility which manufactures products where the following allergens may be present: milk, eggs, fish, peanuts, wheat, shellfish, sesame, soybeans, tree nut, and gluten.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field required; MBA preferred.
Experience:
- 10+ years of progressive sales and eCommerce experience within CPG, supplements, or pet care industries.
- 5+ years managing Amazon/eCommerce accounts with proven success in scaling brands and launching new products.
- Proven success leading Amazon 1P, 3P, or hybrid models and negotiating JBP agreements with major Retailers.
- Deep understanding of Amazon’s advertising ecosystem, digital shelf analytics, and profitability levers (pricing, trade, mix, supply chain).
- Experience developing and managing MAP policy.
- Familiarity with PIM/DAM/CMS systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead P&L ownership, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Strong analytical, storytelling, and communication skills with the ability to influence across marketing, finance, supply chain, and executive teams.
