Job Summary

The Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating manual and/or CNC machines to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications. This role requires strong blueprint reading skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain tight tolerances in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate manual and CNC mills, lathes, grinders, and other machine shop equipmentRead and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specificationsSelect appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for various materialsMachine parts to precise tolerances (±.0005” or as specified)Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, and other precision measuring instrumentsMake machine offsets and program adjustments as neededDeburr and finish machined components to required specificationsMaintain clean and organized work areasPerform routine machine maintenance and report equipment issuesFollow all company safety policies and proceduresRequired Qualifications

High school diploma or GED2+ years of machining experience (manual, CNC, or combination)Strong blueprint reading and measuring skillsExperience holding tight tolerancesWorking knowledge of machining metals such as tool steel, aluminum, and stainless steelAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionPreferred Skills

CNC programming experience (G-code, conversational programming, or CAM software)Experience with multi-axis machiningFamiliarity with tool and die componentsExperience in a high-precision or production manufacturing environmentPhysical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periodsLift up to 50 lbsManual dexterity and strong hand-eye coordinationAbility to work in a machine shop environment (noise, coolant, temperature variation)
