Maintenance Technician at Vicmead Hunt Club – Wilmington, Delaware

Position: Maintenance Technician

Reports To: Facilities Manager

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintenance of all Vicmead Hunt Club buildings and grounds. This individual is responsible for assisting in deliveries and pickups for culinary and catering departments. He/she is responsible for overseeing all areas at Vicmead in a manner most pleasing to members and guests. Assists the Facilities Manager.

Job Tasks:

Assist in maintenance of all areas on campuses at Vicmead Hunt Club and Bidermann Golf Course.Provide feedback to Facilities Manager on the appearance of all club buildings and grounds as well as specific recommendations for improving operations and daily work to ensure efficiency and successful operations.Responsible for operating leaf blower to clear debris around the clubhouses, driveways, and pool on daily basis.Responsible for mowing, weed whacking, mulching, debris, trash, tree limbs and leaves on all Club grounds and surrounding areas. Maintain Vicmead equipment and vehicles. This includes mechanical, cleaning, inspections etc.Plant and maintain grass seed, trees, flowers, and planters. Water trees and plants as needed.Assist Banquet and Party staff in set ups for daily and special functions.Assist in banquet and party deliveries between various locations.Keep shop clean and organized.Responsible for painting and minor plumbing, electrical and carpentry projects.Assist in large projects and annual Club clean up and repairs.Assist in dealing with sub-contractors, overseeing work, and reporting to Facilities Manager.Clean fireplaces and set-up for new fires daily during season.Assist with the opening, closing and operation of both indoor and outdoor tennis courts.Assist with the opening, closing and operation of pool.Assist in maintenance of paddle courts, lights, heaters, and surrounding areas. Also, snow removal and salt spreading when necessary.Assist in maintenance of tenant house and yard.Assist in maintenance of Indoor Racquets building and grounds.Change light bulbs in all buildings. Checking exit and emergency lights. Do monthly safety audits as requested.Run errands to post office, bank, hardware store, bakery, grocery stores etc. as needed. Will need to take readings and fill out charts, reports, and other administrative work as requested.Willing to get certified in First Aid, CPR, and other classes as requested.Must have a valid driver’s license.All other duties assigned by your supervisor.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work in all weather conditions and move safely over uneven terrain, lift 50 pounds, climb ladders while carrying up to 40 pounds, and other physical activities which would require standing, walking, stairs, etc.

Readiness and ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.

Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods; ability to climb stairs.

Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, and pull.

The ability to see and respond to dangerous or unsafe situations.

Wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) as needed for all work.

Ensures safe working conditions of all personnel throughout the Club operations.
