About This Position

Tyler Junior College is actively searching for highly motivated and experienced individuals to join our esteemed faculty team in the Continuing Education department.   • Deliver high-quality instruction and training to adult learners in your respective courses
  • Develop engaging lesson plans, course materials, and assessments that align with industry standards and best practices
  • Adapt instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of adult learners
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting active participation and collaboration among students
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to students to facilitate their learning and skill development
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and advancements to ensure course content remains up to date and relevant
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades and evaluations
Competencies
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage and connect with adult learners
  • Proven experience in instructional design and curriculum development preferred
  • Previous teaching experience in continuing education, adult education or vocational training settings is desirable
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate students' schedules

Required Education/Experience
  • At least three (3) years' work experience and expertise in OSHA Safety
  • Current professional certifications such as OSHA Authorized Trainer, or relevant industry certifications if applicable
Preferred Education/Experience
  • Associate's degree or equivalent in relevant field

Other Expectations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Will have contact – in person, by email, or by phone – with staff, students, and the general public
  • Must exhibit a sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of staff and students and to staff and students with disabilities
