Educational or Certification Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited College or University

Experience Requirements:

• Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge software is preferable.
• Two years reconciling accounts payable, and bank accounts.
• In-depth knowledge of the accounting cycle.
• Experience with very detail-oriented analysis of expense accounts.
• Troubleshooting account for budget discrepancies.
• Experiencing importing journal entries into the software.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required/Preferred:

• Knowledge of nonprofit accounting.
• Ability to perform advanced analysis using spreadsheets.
• Attention to detail is critical as is ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
• Interpersonal skills necessary to work as part of a team with other Accounting Department employees;
• Ability to prioritize tasks;
• Knowledge and experience in automated Accounts Payable system

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable – assist and be able to work in the automated Accounts Payable software (PaperSave)
• Process/Approve ACH and Wire payments
• In-House Deposits
• Payroll journal entry
• Haiti Office wires
• Journal entries – FSA/ADP Payroll fees/Wageworks/IRS Refund
• Run reports and queries from Financial Edge Software for troubleshooting and analysis
• Audit – assist Controller with responsibilities for the annual Financial Audit
• Import GIK Shipments and Revenue into Financial Edge Software and reconcile Balance Sheet and Income Statement totals with GIK departmental reports.
• Various other duties as assigned
