MARS Supervisor 1 at PRIDE Enterprises – Belle Glade, Florida

Job Summary: Conducts training for Inmates on the repair and maintenance of farm equipment within a large fabrication and repair shop located in Belle Glade, FL. Position requires proficiency in acetylene torch, plasma cutting, stick welding, and MIG welding techniques

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.

1. Complete farm equipment repair projects assigned by the Operations Manager.

2. Track hours and materials for each job.

3. Maintain records on inmates and projects.

4. Instruct inmate workers, both skilled and unskilled, in welding, fabrication, painting, and painting prep.

5. Operate within policy guidelines of tool control and inmate management.

6. Maintain equipment assigned to this position. (Vehicles, tools, site equipment, etc).

7. Work with Florida Department of Corrections regarding inmate control.

8. Perform special projects as directed by Operations Manager.

9. Follow all safety requirements to include ensuring inmates are welding certified.

Education and Experience: High School graduate and 2 years’ experience as a supervisor in maintenance and repair of farm equipment. Ability to operate equipment utilized in site prep and utilities maintenance of buildings.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to interpret, manipulate, audit, and process data in reports, graphs, and data summaries attendant to position duties and responsibilities.

Reasoning Ability: Strong critical thinking, analytical, and decision-making skills. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form.

Specialized Knowledge and/or Skill: Strong knowledge of ISO standards, Six Sigma, and Lean principles. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, knowledge of SPC, strong manufacturing acumen. Knowledge of Dynamics-365 preferred.

Other Skills and Abilities: Strong identification with the mission and values at the core of PRI. A flexible team player that can manage numerous tasks simultaneously.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or office equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.

Work Environment: Work on State of Florida property agriculture environments.
