Custodian ZFS at Zeeland Farm Services I – Zeeland, Michigan

2 open part-time positions:

(1) Monday, Wednesday, and every other Friday 5PM to 10:00PM

(1) Tuesday, Thursday, and every other Friday: 5PM to 10:00PM

Job Summary:

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of facility buildings and offices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Carry out general cleaning, maintenance, and appearance assignments in a timely manner.
• Clean & maintain restrooms, offices, common areas, and custodial storage to satisfactory standards using established practices and procedures.

• Safely operate, maintain, and inspect custodial equipment. Request for replacements as needed.

• Conduct inventory and maintain an appropriate supply of cleaning products and tools.
• Assist departments with task responsibilities that may arise on an as-needed basis.
• Properly dispose of waste and recyclables.
• Provide a “Customer Service” attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards.

• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe workstation/environment at all times.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Education and Experience:

• Education: High School or Equivalent
• Experience: No experience required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
• Familiar with operating, storing, and basic maintenance of custodial equipment supplies.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management.
• Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description.
• Able to comply with the company’s safety, quality, and environmental policies at all times.
• Must be 18 years of age.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Ability to bend, stand, kneel to lift objects of 50 pounds or more.
• Ability to walk for long period of time around interior and exterior of facility.
• Ability to use stairs and ladders.
• Ability to work in areas subject to loud noise levels, odor, and airborne particles.
• Ability to be respirator fit tested.
