Rafiki is seeking a compassionate, community-centered Doula to provide culturally responsive perinatal and postpartum support to individuals and families served by Rafiki. This role focuses on emotional, informational, and practical support during pregnancy and the postpartum period, participation in community outreach events, and facilitation of therapeutic and educational workshops aligned with Rafiki's mission of holistic, community-rooted care.

The ideal candidate is grounded in trauma-informed, equity-centered practice and is comfortable working both one-on-one and in group or community settings.

Key Responsibilities

Perinatal & Postpartum Support

• Provide non-clinical perinatal and postpartum support to clients, including emotional support, education, advocacy, and resource navigation
• Support clients during pregnancy and the postpartum period in coordination with Rafiki programs and care teams
• Offer guidance related to birth preparation, postpartum adjustment, infant care, and parental well-being within the doula scope of practice

Therapeutic & Group-Based Support

• Co-facilitate or lead workshops, support groups, and wellness sessions related to pregnancy, postpartum care, and family well-being
• Provide supportive, strengths-based interventions consistent with Rafiki's therapeutic and community-healing approaches

Community Outreach & Events

• Attend and support Rafiki outreach events, community gatherings, and educational programming
• Represent Rafiki in a professional, culturally responsive manner within the community
• Build trust and rapport with community members and partner organizations

Collaboration & Documentation

• Collaborate with clinical staff, case managers, and program teams as appropriate
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation and reporting as required by program guidelines
• Participate in team meetings, trainings, and supervision

Job Requirements:

• Doula certified
• 2 years experience
• Experience providing perinatal and/or postpartum support, particularly in community-based or nonprofit settings
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Commitment to culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and equity-centered care
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
• Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries and work within the doula scope of practice
• Experience facilitating groups, workshops, or wellness programming
• Familiarity with community outreach, grassroots engagement, or public-facing events
• Experience working with historically marginalized or underserved communities
• Bilingual or multilingual abilities (preferred, not required)

Work Schedule & Hours

• Part-time position at 20 hours per week
• Schedule may vary based on client needs, workshops, and outreach events
• Evening and weekend availability is required
