Job Description

Spanish Peaks is a private community situated on 3,500 acres nestled at 7,700 feet in stunning Big Sky, Montana. We are about 40 miles away from Bozeman, Belgrade, and West Yellowstone, MT.

The Director of Food & Beverage will oversee all functions within the F&B space. Provides exceptional full circle employment experience, including recruiting talent, performance management, training and offboarding.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Club’s F&B Operations, keeping the team focused on delivering personalized member experiences with a sense of the cultural place.
  • Development and coordination of all written communication for Members with regard to F&B.
  • Develops and manages budgets for assigned departments to ensure that costs are maintained within budgetary guidelines.
  • Inventory management including; ongoing preventative maintenance, financial billing, and inventory logistics.
  • Ability to innovate with food and beverages, including but not limited to sourcing and supporting the highest quality ingredients.
  • Cultivate and uphold integral relationships with members based on trust and extensive knowledge of their individual backgrounds, preferences, and desires.
  • Complete knowledge of liquor license and laws within the state of Montana.
  • Knowledge of hotel operations to collaborate with Montage Big Sky.
  • Ability to build exceptional relationships and manage through differences.
  • Support of the Spanish Peaks Mountain Club Vision, Mission and Values; including effective leadership, excellent customer service skills, and supervision of overall integrity and standards.
  • Oversee divisional matters and ensure compliance as they relate to federal, state and local employment and civil rights laws.
  • Ensure associates are treated fairly and equitably.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality preferred
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a luxury hotel or club restaurant environment.
  • Self-motivated, well organized, ability to motivate others and results driven leader with exceptional ability to meet and exceed deadlines and goals.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook).
  • Valid driver’s license
  • High degree of language and writing aptitude
  • Flexibility of hours and willingness to work holidays and weekends on a regular basis.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and relate to people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, including associates, vendors, applicants, and members/guests.
  • Proven ability to supervise and inspire staff, including, but not limited to, assignment of duties, evaluating service, and corrective coaching when necessary.
  • Proven ability to execute new ideas; is creative and resourceful.
  • Must be highly professional and able to respect confidentiality.
  • Budgetary analysis capabilities required; ability to prepare and analyze data, figures and transcriptions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Most work tasks are performed indoors. Position requires walking, standing, and giving direction most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with members, supervisors and subordinates.
