We are seeking a Discovery Clerk to support our Employment Litigation team. This role plays a critical part in managing the discovery process, ensuring compliance with procedural requirements, and supporting attorneys through all stages of litigation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in employment or civil litigation discovery, with the ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the discovery process for employment litigation matters, including propounding and responding to discovery in compliance with the California Code of Civil Procedure
- Draft and prepare discovery responses, correspondence, and litigation-related documents under attorney supervision
- Coordinate and track discovery deadlines, responses, and litigation milestones to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including organizing trial binders and exhibit binders
- Work directly with clients to gather information and assist with preparing discovery responses, while providing case status updates as needed
- Communicate with opposing counsel regarding discovery issues, extensions, and procedural matters
- Maintain organized and up-to-date case files using Filevine or comparable case management systems
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in discovery or litigation support; employment law experience is strongly preferred
- Strong working knowledge of the California Code of Civil Procedure as it relates to discovery
- Experience drafting discovery responses, correspondence, and litigation-related documents
- Prior experience assisting with trial preparation and litigation support
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and competing deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, legal assistants, and support staff
- Familiarity with Filevine or similar legal case management software
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
