Job Description

MBSE Engineer

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a MBSE Engineer in United States.

This role sits at the core of advanced systems engineering, focusing on model-based systems engineering (MBSE) to design, analyze, and represent complex system architectures. You will work in a mission-driven, high-security environment where modeling precision directly supports critical government and defense operations. The position involves translating stakeholder requirements into structured system models using industry-standard frameworks such as SysML, UML, DoDAF, and UAF. You will collaborate closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure system behavior, functionality, and capabilities are accurately modeled and understood. This is a highly analytical and detail-oriented role that blends systems thinking, architecture design, and advanced modeling tools. It is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex problems and working on large-scale, high-impact systems.

Accountabilities:
  • Perform systems analysis and decomposition to understand system operations and translate requirements into structured model-based representations.
  • Develop and maintain MBSE models using frameworks such as UML, SysML, DoDAF 2.0/UPDM, and UAF across multiple system perspectives and abstraction levels.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze requirements, processes, capabilities, and system behaviors, ensuring accurate representation in system models.
  • Utilize modeling tools such as Cameo Enterprise Architect to design, extend, and maintain system architectures and related artifacts.
  • Support integration of models with external tools and environments through APIs and established modeling frameworks.
  • Work with executable models and apply functional modeling concepts to simulate and validate system behavior.
  • Generate reports, data outputs, and documentation derived from system models for technical and leadership audiences.
  • Participate in discussions with cross-functional teams while maintaining strong communication and customer service standards in a technical environment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (aerospace, electrical, mechanical, software, or related discipline) with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong experience in model-based systems engineering and system architecture design.
  • Proficiency in UML, SysML, DoDAF, UPDM, and/or UAF modeling frameworks.
  • Experience with MBSE tools such as Cameo Enterprise Architect or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with system decomposition, functional modeling, and object-oriented design principles.
  • Experience working with complex systems in government, defense, or similarly regulated environments is highly preferred.
  • Understanding of executable modeling concepts (fUML preferred).
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-quality, and deadline-driven environments.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range of approximately $102,000 to $138,000 depending on experience, location, and contractual factors.
  • Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, and vision plans.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
  • Generous paid time off, including vacation, holidays, sick leave, and parental leave.
  • Flexible remote work arrangement with occasional onsite requirements.
  • Career growth and internal mobility opportunities supported by dedicated programs.
  • Learning and development support, including AI-powered career tools.
  • Strong focus on work-life balance and employee wellness programs.
