This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an AVP–Systems Engineer in the United States.
This role sits at the intersection of systems engineering, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise automation, supporting large-scale, mission-critical environments. You will be responsible for designing, automating, and optimizing complex systems across on-prem and cloud platforms, ensuring performance, reliability, and security at scale. The position involves deep collaboration with development, infrastructure, and security teams to align engineering strategies with business objectives. You will play a key role in modernizing system operations through automation, orchestration, and advanced tooling. The environment is highly technical, fast-evolving, and focused on innovation in enterprise-grade infrastructure and risk-aware systems. - Lead complex systems engineering activities, including automation, scripting, integration, and monitoring across enterprise environments.
- Design, implement, and support large-scale deployments spanning hardware, operating systems, and cloud platforms.
- Develop and maintain automation frameworks using tools such as Ansible and scripting languages like Python and Bash.
- Manage system performance, including OS tuning, troubleshooting (CPU, memory, I/O), patching, and vulnerability remediation.
- Collaborate with security teams to ensure infrastructure complies with enterprise security standards and policies.
- Analyze system metrics, logs, and alerts to diagnose issues, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure service reliability.
- Serve as an escalation point for high-severity incidents and lead outage response and resolution efforts.
- Contribute to OS lifecycle management, infrastructure documentation, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.
- Partner with application and infrastructure teams to align system architecture with business and technology goals.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- At least 3 years of experience in systems engineering, systems administration, or enterprise IT infrastructure roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux-based operating systems (Red Hat, RHEL 6/7/8, CentOS) in enterprise environments.
- Proficiency in automation and orchestration tools, particularly Ansible, along with scripting in Python and/or Bash.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure, including deployments and operations at scale.
- Solid understanding of system monitoring, patch management, virtualization, and performance optimization.
- Knowledge of secure system configuration, OS lifecycle management, and enterprise deployment strategies.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills, with the ability to present technical issues to varied audiences.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively across global teams.
- Competitive base salary ranging from $160,805 to $180,700 per year, depending on experience, skills, and location.
- Eligibility for incentive-based compensation in addition to base pay.
