Pay Range: $60,000 - $80,000/year
Position Summary
The Radio Frequency Designer is responsible for the end-to-end technical delivery of wireless distributed antenna system (DAS) projects — from site survey and system design through commissioning, documentation, and close-out. This role requires both hands-on field expertise and advanced proficiency with industry-standard design tools, and collaborates closely with project managers, installation teams, and sales to ensure successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
System Design
- Utilize iBwave to develop solutions that meet compliance requirements and building codes and can be efficiently constructed
- Analyzing Benchmark data and importing it into iBwave to ensure proper design goals are achieved
- Produce and review Bill of Materials
- Utilize iBwave to import floor plans, geocode, and model buildings
Site Surveys
- Collect benchmark data per company standards
- Identify and document site conditions that are relevant to the completion of a constructable design
- Involves personally performing the work or managing another person
Commissioning and troubleshooting
- Develop and execute a system test plan based on SOW
- Capture necessary Data and Installation photos to verify installation and system performance
Creation and review of documentation
- Ensure permit sets and construction drawings contain relevant code and construction details and match design
- Review and analyze system performance data to ensure that the system is operating properly
- Ensure Close Out Packages contain necessary details (AHJ Packages)
- Upload documentation to appropriate folder
Work with other team members to ensure successful delivery of projects
- Support sales and estimating with preliminary designs, ROMS, and being in customer calls
- Support project managers by directing technical execution of assigned projects (proper installation, verify correct testing procedures, validate test results, commission /optimize systems, capture data to validate performance, assemble and review COPs.
- Support install team with assistance to complete projects
- Assist in the development of technical standards and train other team members
- Participate in project post mortem calls to review lessons learned

Qualifications
Required
- Proficient with iBwave, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, AutoCAD
- Degree related to Wireless/Electrical/Radio Frequency Engineering
- Demonstrated experience utilizing test equipment (Sweep, PIM, Spectrum Analyzer, Scanner, Test Phones, CW Generator, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to read and navigate through architectural design sets
- Strong executive communication and presentation skills
- Ability to obtain manufacturer certifications as needed
- Advanced proficiency in:
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Outlook
- Microsoft Word
- Valid Driver’s License
Preferred
- iBwave certification preferred
- Minimum of 3 years DAS experience preferred
