Associate Director, Content Strategy (Healthcare)

Job Description.

Huge is seeking an Associate Director, Content Strategy to drive innovation and excellence within the dynamic healthcare sector. This pivotal role requires a strategic thinker who is an expert in leading the development and execution of scalable content strategies integral to designing seamless content ecosystems.

As a Content Strategy expert, you must possess a deep understanding of the complexities unique to the healthcare category and demonstrate a proven ability to map and optimize the patient journey across key digital touchpoints. As an Associate Director, youll lead projects that help our clients maximize the value of their contentidentifying opportunities, defining strategies, and creating actionable roadmaps to achieve their goals by directly supporting their primary service lines, such as primary care, cardiology, and womens health.

Your work will go beyond structuring content; youll ensure it aligns with patient needs and transforms a complex journey into a simple and intuitive experience- getting patients to the right information when it matters most.

What youll be doing.

  • Lead content audits and drive end-to-end efforts in information architecture, content modeling, and taxonomy development for large, complex healthcare digital ecosystems.
  • Drive content governance, audits, workflow design, and lifecycle management.
  • Create and evolve information architecture, content models, taxonomy structures, and metadata systems.
  • Develop strategy, including voice & tone frameworks, messaging guidelines, and systemized content patterns.
  • Partner with Experience Design, Product, and Engineering teams to scale content operations and ensure quality across channels.
  • Lead workshops and interviews on content requirements and needs with mid- and senior-level clients.
  • Act as a healthcare subject matter expert for our internal team and a trusted advisor for day-to-day and senior clients.
  • Identify, prioritize, and sell large-scale content opportunities at the project and product levels.
  • Identify migration strategies for content across products and partner with engineers and technologists to plan and implement content migration(s).
  • Collaborate with technologists, business analysts, and product managers on Huge and client teams to recommend appropriate content systems for projects.
  • Consult internal teams and clients on content governance, including workflow definition, communications and socialization, decision frameworks, and platform training and coaching.

What wed like to see.

  • 8+ years in content strategy, UX writing, content design, or adjacent strategic roles, with experience in an agency, consulting, or client services environment.
  • Deep understanding of how healthcare audiences search, navigate, and make decisions. From patients exploring care options to providers seeking clinical resources.
  • Experience bringing simplified, intuitive navigation to life that aligns with user priorities, including scalable frameworks that evolve with the health systems services and growth.
  • Expertise in these foundational areas of content strategy:
    • Content governance, audit, and lifecycle management
    • Information architecture and content modeling
    • Editorial strategy and voice/tone frameworks
    • Taxonomy strategy
    • Multi-channel content planning
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex systems into simple, compelling narratives.
  • Comfort working in fast-paced environments with cross-disciplinary teams.

This role is currently not available for hire or work in New Mexico and Hawaii, USA.

The salary range for this position is as listed below. Exactly where a prospective employee will be paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, the actual salary ranges for current and former employees who are either currently filling a similar role or did in the past; the candidates depth of experience and qualifications; the level of specialization the role requires; budgetary considerations; the market demand for that role and the local market conditions that exist where the employee will be based. For current Huge employees, tenure will also be a consideration.
