The Medical Mobile Unit Driver is a para-professional role responsible for safely operating a 38-foot medical mobile unit and ensuring the timely delivery of CFCE’s mobile health services to underserved communities. This position supports the expansion of access to care by transporting and facilitating mobile health operations and may assist with basic medical procedures as needed. The driver ensures safe, efficient service delivery while maintaining compliance with operational and safety standards.

Some of the Functions Include:
- Safely operate a 38-foot mobile health unit to transport and deliver CFCE mobile health services to community sites
- Assist with setup and breakdown of mobile clinic sites and support overall mobile unit operations
- Maintain vehicle logs, mileage records, fuel receipts, and ensure routine inspections and scheduled maintenance are completed
- Provide basic clinical support, including patient intake, documentation, and maintenance of accurate clinical records
- Perform basic health screenings, including vital signs, height, weight, vision (Snellen), hearing tests, and pulse oximetry
- Collect and process clinical specimens, including venipuncture/phlebotomy, fingersticks, and heelsticks across pediatric and adult populations
- Administer and interpret point-of-care tests (e.g., strep, influenza, HIV, pregnancy, glucose, hemoglobin, dipstick tests)
- Administer medications, vaccines, and injectable treatments as directed
- Assist with wound care, immunization activities, and PPD placement and reading
- Respond to clinical needs as appropriate, including initiating life support measures in emergency situations
- Ensure compliance with safety, clinical, infection control, and operational protocols
- Perform other duties as assigned to support mobile health services
Minimum Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Current CPR certification
Skills Needed
- Valid Florida driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Access to a reliable, well-maintained vehicle with valid auto insurance
- Ability to safely operate a vehicle and travel as needed, including on-call assignments
- Experience operating large vehicles preferred
- Physical mobility to interact effectively with patients and perform job-related duties
- Knowledge of the local service area and communities served
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff, managers, and the public
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with diverse populations
