Physical Therapist Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist (PT), you will provide comprehensive rehabilitation services and individualized treatment plans for patients recovering from injury, surgery, or illness.

Key responsibilities include:

• Perform initial evaluations and ongoing patient assessments to determine therapy needs and functional limitations
• Develop and implement customized physical therapy treatment plans based on physician orders and patient goals
• Utilize evidence-based therapy techniques to restore mobility, improve strength, and reduce pain
• Administer therapeutic modalities such as heat therapy, ultrasound, and other physical therapy treatments
• Educate patients and families on injury prevention, mobility strategies, and home exercise programs
• Evaluate and fit prosthetic and orthotic devices when appropriate
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans to maximize rehabilitation outcomes
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and patient records
• Supervise and guide Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs), therapy aides, and students
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver quality patient care
