About This Position
Join the team at America’s Auto Auction as a Mechanic and play a key role in keeping our auction operations running smoothly. In this role, you will inspect, maintain, and repair company vehicles, equipment, and facility-related mechanical systems to ensure they remain safe, reliable, and ready for daily auction activities. The Mechanic performs diagnostic assessments, preventive maintenance, and minor to moderate repairs while following company safety standards and operational procedures. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work and takes pride in keeping equipment operating at its best in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
• Perform mechanical inspections, maintenance, and repairs on company vehicles and operational equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and complete minor to moderate repairs in accordance with safety standards.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection documentation, and repair logs.
• Identify potential safety concerns or mechanical risks and promptly report findings to management.
• Assist with troubleshooting mechanical systems related to facility or operational equipment as needed.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
• Follow all established safety procedures when working with vehicles, tools, and mechanical systems.
• Communicate with supervisors regarding repair priorities, maintenance schedules, and parts or supply needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, maintenance practices, and repair techniques.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety and quality workmanship.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond effectively to urgent repair needs.
- Clear communication skills to coordinate with supervisors and operations staff.
- Ability to work independently while supporting overall team operations.
- Demonstrates reliability, accountability, and professionalism.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade certification preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in mechanical repair, vehicle maintenance, or equipment servicing.
- Experience in automotive, fleet, industrial, or facility maintenance environments preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor operational environments.
- Ability to safely operate tools and mechanical equipment.
