Job Title: Outreach & Child Development Specialist
Job Type: Full-time and Part-Time
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
*This role uses a split-rate compensation structure. Billable client service hours are paid at a higher hourly rate, while non-billable hours—including training, drive time, admin tasks, and required meetings—are compensated at a separate hourly rate.*

Stars Therapy Services is a company dedicated to empowering children and families toward happiness and wellness. We are currently seeking passionate individuals to join our clinical team in the Bay Area to provide play-based therapy to children under the age of three years old. We are seeking a relationship-focused Outreach & Child Development Specialist to represent Stars in the community, build partnerships with local organizations and libraries, and support families in accessing early intervention services. This position will also receive training to support developmental assessments using the Battelle Developmental Inventory (BDI-2) as part of California’s Early Start Program.
This is an ideal role for someone passionate about early childhood, community engagement, and family support who wants to grow into developmental assessment work.
What You’ll Do:
- Represent Stars at community sites, libraries, preschools, and events
- Help facilitate library programming such as storytime, sensory play, and parent workshops
- Build relationships with community partners and early childhood programs
- Educate families about child development and early intervention services
- Collect referrals and connect families to developmental assessments
- Assist with community events, health fairs, and outreach activities
- Maintain outreach contacts and track leads
- Receive training to support developmental assessments (BDI-2) with licensed clinicians
- Travel between community sites and family homes throughout the service area
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Human Development, or related field
- Passion for working with young children and families
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
- Comfortable with community outreach, public engagement, and travel

Requirements:
- Have reliable transportation and willingness to travel to various home-based sites throughout the day
- Valid driver’s license, proof of current Vehicle Insurance Registration, and a clean driving record.
- Ability to obtain DOJ background clearance.
- Willing to obtain CPR certification
- Obtain and provide current negative TB test
- Ability to walk, run, tolerate prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, crawling, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and write communication through computer, electronic devices, and paper means.
