Paramedic at Citizens Memorial – Hermitage, Missouri

Due to our continued growth and the addition of a 12-hour truck in Hickory County, Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) is hiring a Paramedic to join our Pre-Hospital Services Department. CMH is made up of 34 primary and specialty clinics, 6 long-term care facilities and 1 residential care facility. Offering acute care, emergency services, ambulatory care, pharmacies, walk-in clinics, surgeries, addiction recovery, rehab therapies and more, CMH has its community covered!

About the department: CMH Pre-Hospital Services provides ambulance services to three counties in Southwest Missouri: Polk, Hickory, and St. Clair. Services include 9-1-1 emergency response and non-emergency medical transport. Ambulances are equipped with advanced medical life support for adult and pediatric patients. CMH Pre-Hospital Services is certified as pediatric-ready by Missouri EMS for Children. CMH is recognized as a high-quality care provider for time-critical diagnosis of trauma, heart attack, stroke and sepsis. Ambulances are staffed by EMTs and paramedics who are licensed and certified to provide exceptional and compassionate care.

A typical day includes: Responding to emergency calls to provide treatment and care to patients of all ages.

• Prepares and maintains ambulances, equipment, and inventory of supplies
• Assesses and determines scene safety, and/or utilizes community/organizational resources to assure scene safety
• Initiates advanced life support and makes an accurate initial assessment of patients' conditions
• Transports patients, utilizing other methods of transportation, or relinquishing patient care as per state guidelines and / or medical control
• Documents a complete assessment on each patient examined, uses understandable language and / or organization-approved abbreviations

Job Requirements:

• Education: Completion of an approved EMT-P training course; education and training with 12 lead EKG, basic Arrhythmia, and NRP is preferred
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience as an EMS or in an emergency department setting
• Skills: Ability to remain calm and exhibit a professional composure during high-stress and crisis situations
• Licensure/Certification: Active Missouri EMT-P license certification and a current Class E Missouri Driver's License
• Physical: Prolonged periods of standing and walking, lifting more than 100 pounds with and without assistance

The position is: PRN with rotating shifts.
