Safety/Security Officer at St. Josephs Candler – Savannah, Georgia

Responsible for detection, correction, reporting, managing and preventing safety hazards and security violations which may exist or emerge on the hospital campus or affiliated St. Joseph's/Candler properties. Will perform duties that will call for initiating preventive measures, inspections, drills and first responder response in situations of safety, security, fire safety, emergency preparedness, hazardous material and waste, to include OSHA, Joint Commission, Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), National Fire Protection Association and related regulatory agencies standards and codes. Security officer will also be responsible for a safe and secure environment in all areas of SJCHS including key areas but not limited to : Emergency Room, ICU / CCU, Mental Health Holds in the Emergency Room, Security calls in all locations in the hospital. Security Officers daily duties include protecting patients, staff, property, information, and the hospital's reputation, and responding to emergencies, criminal activity and disturbances to resolve issues. Security officers must comply with Security department's Operation Guidelines.
