Gate Clerk (2nd shift / 6:30pm-03:00am) at Flexi-Van Leasing LLC – Carson, California

Primary Objectives of Position

Gate Clerk is responsible for in-gate and/or inspections on all inbound and outbound intermodal chassis using a computer system and/or handheld device. This gate entry role controls access into and out of facilities, supports on-site logistics, and helps to ensure our gate operations run safely and effectively.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

• Computer workstation and handheld data entry, to include coding on all related forms of chassis repair and maintenance identification on repair estimates.
• Direct truckers with chassis pick-ups, chassis returns and to include help with assignment of units associated with contract bookings.
• Manage gate traffic flow with emphasis on yard cleanliness and traffic safety.
• Assist with facility-related maintenance as needed.
• Adhere to OSHA and company safety protocols

Job Specifications & Requirements

• Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma
  • Speak, read and write the English language adequately
  • Bi-lingual language ability is a plus.
  • Mechanical skills are a plus.
• Ability to fill out and handwrite manual interchanges in the event of desktop/handheld network issues while ensuring unit details are accurate for later data input.
• Computer literacy.
• Detail oriented and ability to work in fast paced environment.
• A willingness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Willingness and ability to stand for long periods of time.
