About This Position
Description:
Custodial Team members are an integral part of maintaining a sanitary and safe environment for all while providing exceptional customer service. They are responsible for day-to-day operations of campus which include: keeping Institutional spaces clean, sanitized, and orderly, as well as the operational and general maintenance of custodial-related equipment. Other duties may be assigned as department or institutional need arises.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Execute regular custodial tasks such as dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and maintaining restroom hygiene by restocking paper and soap supplies.
- Conduct routine maintenance on custodial equipment and ensure their proper functioning.
- Manage waste disposal by emptying trash receptacles, utilizing compactors or dumpsters, and appropriately bagging trash for disposal.
- Maintain security protocols by unlocking and securing doors while cleaning areas.
- Report maintenance needs and concerns, submit work orders, monitor supply levels, and address resident-related issues within on-campus residence halls.
- Uphold equipment and supply care standards, fostering workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Facilitate the on-the-job training of new staff in standard procedures.
- Perform specific cleaning tasks based on facility requirements or seasonal/project demands.
- Coordinate vendor access for cleaning purposes, addressing basic inquiries, and reporting issues to supervisors.
- Participate in building level inclement weather preparations and undertake minor maintenance activities such as replacing lights.
- Fulfill miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of relevant work experience.
- Capability to work independently without continuous supervision.
- Proficiency in following directions accurately.
- Physical ability to walk, stoop, bend, lift equipment, climb stairs, and operate ladders.
- Demonstrate consistent and dependable work ethic.
- Be customer service oriented.
