We are building a roster of qualified candidates for upcoming projects across Alberta. Applicants may be contacted for current or future project opportunities. Job Description (Duties) Work assignments may take place at various industrial sites across Alberta. Transportation or LOA (Living Out Allowance) may be provided depending on project requirements.Ironworkers at AG&P Canada will:Read blueprints and specifications to lay out workUnload and position steel units so each piece can be hoisted as neededErect and install scaffolding, hoisting equipment and riggingSignal crane operator to position steel units according to blueprintsAlign and weld or bolt steel units in placeErect structural and architectural precast concrete componentsAssemble and erect prefabricated metal structuresPosition and secure steel bars or metal mesh in concrete forms to reinforce concrete structuresInstall ornamental and other structural metalwork Examine structures and equipment for deterioration, defects or non-compliance with specificationsMay dismantle structures and equipmentQualificationsCompletion of apprenticeship program or trade certification (Red Seal preferred)Minimum 3-5 years of relevant work experience in an industrial settingValid Journeyperson or Apprenticeship certificate Strong ability to read and interpret structural drawings and specifications
Safety Tickets (minimum mandatory):H2S AliveFall ProtectionStandard First AidWHMISCSO or CSTSAssets:Confined Space LOTO Ground Disturbance Level II Elevated Work Platform (EWP/AWP)Additional Requirements:Must meet site specific safety requirements prior to mobilizationAbility to perform physically demanding work in industrial and outdoor environmentsComfortable working in varying temperatures, confined spaces, and at heightsCommitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvementProficient in English (written and verbal)Reliable transportation to site
Valid driver’s license and clean 5-year Driver’s Abstract (under 6 demerits)Additional InformationPositions are safety-sensitive and subject to drug and alcohol testing and applicable site-required background screening prior to mobilization.
