The laboratory Technician Performs data entry and processing of biological indicator spore strip tests in a high-volume culture lab. Primarily serving the dental industry, B.I. spore strip tests are used in autoclave performance testing for sterility assurance.

• Sorts and labels test envelopes and performs data entry based on information provided in envelope
• Aseptically transfer spore strips into test tubes
• Operates fill machines and ensures proper media fill into tubes, including setup and breakdown
• Follows SOPs to ensure appropriate incubation protocol
• Removes samples from incubators and visually examines for bacterial growth
• Routine cleaning of laboratory glassware and equipment
• Daily monitoring of incubator temperatures
• Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to counting and opening test envelopes, cleaning work area, processing media, restocking supplies, participate in the onboarding and training/cross-training of lab technicians within your area(s) of capability, etc.

Preferred Experience:

• experience in a laboratory operation or technical/scientific field, and basic computer competency
• Some knowledge of aseptic laboratory techniques, and microscope familiarity is preferred
• Requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, well-focused, sense of urgency, good work ethic, and ability to function as part of a team.
