About This Position
Position Summary: Under the supervision of the nursing department’s management, the RN assumes the responsibility for the nursing processes of assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation needed to deliver safe, evidence based care within their scope of practice.
Responsibilities:
- Triaging: Assess patients' conditions and prioritize care based on urgency and need.
- Stabilizing patients: Work with other ER staff to stabilize incoming patients.
- Administering treatment: Give medications, insert IVs, and perform advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) interventions.
- Monitoring vital signs: Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to changes.
- Documenting care: Create and maintain patient records and care plans.
- Communicating with patients: Explain treatment and recovery plans to patients, and talk to them after procedures.
- Assisting doctors: Assist doctors during procedures.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Kansas or has work permit from the State Board of Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Knowledge of general nursing theory and practice; knowledge of principles, methods and techniques involved in performing general nursing services and adapting or modifying standards of nursing practices for care of specific medical cases.
- BLS certification required or must complete BLS certification with in the first two weeks of employment;
- ACLS, TNCC and ENPC required within six months of employment.
Infection Control: Initial and Ongoing training in dealing with infection control. Trainings could include but are not limited to, blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids and bio hazardous materials as it applies to your daily work environment.

Secondary – required for the job, but mostly be exception; and
